10 Steps to Success
Your home is as unique as you are, with customizations and details that make it truly personal. What remains consistent is our approach—guiding you from big decisions to the smallest details with ease. Every project follows our Signature 10-Step Design Process:
Timelines
Design
Once your project is on our calendar, we generally allow 4 to 6 months for the design phase before construction can begin. Factors like project size, permit requirements, and unique details will influence this, and we’ll refine the timeline when customizing your project proposal.
Construction
The construction timeline is determined by your contracting team. We’ll collaborate closely with both you and them throughout the on-site process to ensure our designs are executed flawlessly. Depending on the scope, construction can take anywhere from a few months to over a year.
Furnishing
We coordinate all furnishing projects with white-glove delivery and installation—think of it as your own HGTV-style reveal! For projects involving both construction and furnishing, we aim to align installation with your move-in date. Furnishing-only projects typically require a minimum of 12 weeks from final order to installation.
Investment
Design Fees
Our design services start at $15,000 for furnishing a minimum of 3 full rooms. For projects involving both construction and furnishings, fees begin at $30,000. Design fees are billed as a flat rate, while project management is charged at $185 per hour. Your design fees will be detailed in a personalized proposal after your consultation.
Construction
Furnishing budgets typically start at $100,000, while renovation or interior build budgets begin at $350,000. We’ll collaborate with your contractor to price your design vision and work with you to prioritize your spending based on your goals.
Furnishings
Furnishing budgets vary depending on your vendor selections. For main living spaces, typical ranges are $15,000 to $40,000+ per room. We’ll outline a tailored furnishing budget with you during the onboarding process.

FAQ
Can you design my home if I live in a different city or country?
Yes, all of our services can be completed remotely. Our design firm is cloud based and we've designed more than a few homes over facetime! We’ll use technology to communicate, share ideas, and provide guidance with the same level of detail as we would in person. Megan is always happy to travel for key milestones during our work together!
How do you ensure the project stays within budget?
All of our full service offerings have a budgeting and revisions phase. This is our opportunity to revisit the budget that we've established with you in the beginning and balance it against your actual wish list. We provide regular updates and transparent pricing so you can make informed decisions that relate to your budget, lifestyle and overall home goals.
Can I source my own materials and furniture?
At each step of the design process, we review every idea with you in detail, and request feedback before we proceed to the next stage of development. While we prioritize YOU in every decision we make, our process is most successful when we have creative control over selecting materials and furniture in conjunction with the whole design vision. We work with trusted vendors and artisans to ensure the quality and consistency of the final design. If you prefer to handle sourcing on your own our Signature Full Service experience won't be the best fit for you. Consider working with us on a Custom Architectural and Interior Review, so that we can set you up on the right path to bring your project to life on your own.
Can you recommend a contractor and sub-trades?
Partnering with professional tradespeople is a crucial part of our process. We'll work with our team of trades to prepare estimates for the work we recommend and oversee their progress throughout your project. If you are already working with a licensed contractor, your proposal will detail how we'll communicate and collaborate with their team to ensure a seamless process.
Do I get designer discounts when we work together?
We are fortunate to have relationships with so many talented vendors and we love incorporating custom and one-of-a-kind pieces to make every design unique. These relationships require a time and financial commitment, and it is our policy to price our products so they are competitive with retail. Our design fees and product pricing include our team managing the entire ordering process for you, so you never have to lift a finger.
What if I don’t love the design?
Our process is designed to ensure that you absolutely love your final space. During onboarding, we take the time to understand your design style, preferences, and how you live. Each proposal includes a set number of re-selections, so there’s room for adjustments. If you’re ever uncertain about an item, we’ll explain why we think it’s perfect for your space—and these are often the pieces our clients end up loving the most! Rest assured, we’ve never completed a project where homeowners weren’t thrilled with the result.
